well, i asked a question today, and here's my tarot reading in the Horseshoe Spread:
1st Card represents the Past - this card represents past events that are affecting the question or situation you are asking about.
Card Drawn: 6 of Cups
This suit is usually associated with emotions and matters of the heart.
Key Words: children - memories - child-like - innocence - forgiveness - kindness
The Six of Cups is a card of simple goodness. It encourages you to be kind, generous and forgiving.
The Six of Cups also represents innocence - a word with many shades of meaning. You can be innocent in the strictly legal sense of lack of guilt. You can be innocent of the truth - unaware of some secret. You can be lacking in deceit or corruption - innocent of ulterior motive. Finally, you can be virtuous or chaste. These are all possibilities that can apply to the Six of Cups, depending on the situation. Notice that the two figures on the Six of Cups appear to be children. Often this card represents a baby or young child. In a larger sense, it embraces all of childhood and the feelings we associate with youth (ideally!) - being carefree, playful, secure and
loved. Children are our treasure, and the sweetness of the Six of Cups is a quality to be treasured as well.
2nd Card represents the Immediate Present - This card represents Now.
Card Drawn: 5 of Swords
This suit generally represents anything forceful -- arguments, going after something, etc. Key Words: self-interest
In readings, the Five of Swords can mean that you or someone else is forgetting this larger view of self. You are defining your interests too narrowly. If you try to get
ahead in isolation, your actions will come back to haunt you later, one way or the other. Sometimes this card implies a need to put your own interests first. If you are being abused or taken advantage of, you must get free. If you are worn out by demands, take care of yourself. If it is your turn, step forward and claim your due. Just be aware that if you hurt others in the process, your victory will not feel complete. The Five of Swords also represents hostility - from a cross word to warfare. When the cords that bind us are broken, we experience dis-cord. This card can signify dishonours that are fairly open. Cheats, lies, tricks, deceits, even crimes. You may be on the receiving end, or be the perpetrator. Either way, hold to a larger view of who you are. Find the solution that is best for everyone...including yourself.
3rd Card represents the Immediate Future - Near events that will affect the situation
Card Drawn: The World
Major Arcana - Heart of the Deck
Each of these suits represents some universal aspect of human experience. A major element of happiness is wholeness - the sense that everything is working together in harmony. Not in a static way, but with dynamic balance. Involvement is also important. To be happy, we must feel connected - engaged with what is around us. There is also accomplishment - knowing that we have goals and are moving toward them successfully. When all these elements come together, we feel fulfilled and blessed. The World represents these moments and all that goes into them. In readings, it is a very positive sign that you are in a position to realise your heart's desire. What that is for you depends on the situation, but it will always feel great. Remember, though, that Card 21 is a symbol of active contribution and service. To hold the World in our hands, we must give of ourselves to it. That is the source of true happiness.
4th Card represents Something Occupying your Mind - You need to be aware of how this fits into your situation
Card Drawn: The Moon
Major Arcana - Heart of the Deck
Each of these suits represents some universal aspect of human experience. If you look around the room right now, you will (probably!) see people and objects that are comforting in their familiarity. Everything is exactly as you expect it to be. You know that if you closed your eyes and opened them, the room would be the same.
But...have you ever lost the familiar to find, in its place, a world so extraordinary you can't even grasp it? This is the experience of the Moon. The Moon is the light of this realm - the world of shadow and night. Although this place is awesome, it does not have to be frightening. In the right circumstances, the Moon inspires and enchants. It holds out the promise that all you imagine can be yours. The Moon guides you to the unknown so you can allow the unusual into your life. Sadly, we are usually afraid of the Moon. In readings, this card often stands for fears and anxieties - the ones that come in the darkest part of the night. Card 18 also stands
for illusions. It is easy to lose our way in the moonlight. Be careful not to let deceptions and false ideas lead you astray. Sometimes the Moon is a signal that you are
lost and wandering aimlessly. You must find your way back to the path and your clarity of purpose.
5th Card represents The Attitudes of Others - Attitudes and thoughts about this situation from people surrounding you
Card Drawn: King of Wands
This suit is generally associated with spirituality and personal growth. Key Words: leadership, strength
Type of Person: Aries - Strong, generous, impulsive, business like
In readings, the King of Wands asks you to take the kinds of actions he might take. For example: creating a masterpiece, leading the way, taking a risk, or making a splash. This King can also represent a man or woman who is acting as he does, or an atmosphere of excitement, daring and drama. In a reading, he tells you that his special energy has meaning for you at this time. Let yourself be inspired by this King in whatever form he appears in your life.
6th Card represents An Obstacle - You must overcome this to resolve the situation
Card Drawn: Knight of Pentacles
This suit usually represents financial matters, or anything in a material sense. Key Words: thorough, dogged
Type of Person: Taurus - careful, prudent, trustworthy, can give wrong impression
In readings, a Knight of Pentacles shows that his cautious style is involved in the situation as an aspect of you, someone else or the atmosphere in general. You need to
ask yourself, "Is this Knight's energy helping or hurting?" If his style is evident, then balance is needed. Are you working too hard? Do you refuse to listen to reason? Do you have a perfectionist in your life? Is the atmosphere around you one of gloom and doom? It may be time for a change. If this Knight's energy is missing, a dose of prudence may be called for. Are you spending too much? Maybe it's time to slow down. Do you give up too soon? Dig in and refuse to quit. Is your work often careless, late or incomplete? Next time resolve to work up a sweat and get the job done. Let the Knight of Pentacles introduce you to his world of care and persistence.
7th Card represents The Final Outcome.
Card Drawn: 2 of Swords
This suit generally represents anything forceful -- arguments, going after something, etc.
Key Words: barriers - blocking of emotions
In readings, the Two of Swords often appears when you are not willing to accept some truth about yourself or the situation. What are you really feeling? Are you resisting tender feelings because you might be hurt? Are you furious even though you're smiling? What are you refusing to look at? Notice the blindfold on this woman. She can't look at the truth or even acknowledge that there is trouble. The most common barrier is a closed heart. When we cut ourselves off emotionally, we
sever the connection that allows our love to flow outward. Sometimes this action is necessary, but it always comes at a great price. Every time we close off our heart, we find it more difficult to open again. Another barrier between people is a deadlocked situation. When two parties are set in their positions - cut off from each other - there is a stalemate. To break it, the "opponents" must come out from behind their swords and listen to each other. The lesson of the Two of Swords is that barriers are not the answer. We must stay open if we are to find peace and wholeness.
**sometimes tarot reading is so accurate, it makes you wonder if there is really a higher power out there...hmmm...
21 April monday, monday...not too shabby afterall....gosh...haven't updated my space for so long...was so busy for the past few months, hardly had time to stop and smell the flowers...
well...guess what...i saw the cutest french bulldog on muni today...she is so sweet and cute...i wanted to take her home and play with my pug babies...but of course, that's not realistic...but it definitely made my ride home more interesting...heehee...she was all eye-ing me and putting her little flat face on my arm...so cute...too bad i didn't have my camera with me, if not, i will be going crazy snapping photos of her...heehee...
talking about taking pictures, gosh, i just realized that i haven't had time to post any recent photos to the space...i guess i will work on them tonight and post them asap so that chou chou's fans can view them online...ya...my baby girl totally got her own fan club...heehee...here's a preview of chou chou and sailor at the beach...gosh, my babies are sooooo cute... 29 Januar New Year Resolution - 2008Ok, 2007 passed just like that...oh boy...i'm getting older and older...
let's see...what are my resolutions for 2008!?!?!?
hmmm...i guess the following would work:
1. Work Life Balance - need to shift priority from Career to Family/Friends/Relationship. By this time, making a few more grand is not going to affect my livelihood...I think quality of life is more important in my current stage...so mental note, spend more time with family, friends, and my pug babies, and perhaps go on a few HOT DATES...wakakakaka...
2. Health - ok, i really need to get my act together and start eating and living more healthy...so cut down on snacks and perhaps do a little power walk here and there...heehee...need to get myself in shape so i can go on those HOT DATES in 2008...wakakakakaka...
3. Be Happy - ya...just be happy...be more content with the little things in life...and try to do more good deeds by volunteering here and there...and finally, just be silly and share some laughs with love ones..
4. Maintaining a Job - okay, shifting focus doesn't mean that i will quit my job now and just hangout with people all day long...a girl still got to make a living and have enough moolah to buy new shoes...so, my resolution is to not work OTs so i can get off work early to do some shopping and hanging out with people i like...so i will be as efficient as possible at work so i can spend more time doing other non-work related stuff...perhaps go happy hours more often with my coworkers and friends...ya...that sounds like a GREAT plan...heehee...
5. Get a house - ya...i really need some tax deductions...single and no kids...boy, i'm like the sugar mama for IRS...
okay, i think i have enough resolutions for this year...if i can only focus on them...that would be so wonderful...heehee...mental note, should check these resolutions every so often to remind myself what's important in 2008...
Yeah! I passed!heehee...i guess most people already know this...i finally got the result of my C4 exam...heehee...i passed...so i guess all that sacrafices paid off...you know...not going out so i can stay put to read those boring regulation books...heehee...i'm so happy that i passed...this is the last exam to get my designation...so from now on, you all may addressed me as Mai, CPC...wakakakaka... 18 Dezember as promised...heehee...enjoy.... |
